Earlier today, I wanted to blog on Jenny Lewis and her feelings on God. I had wrote down some lyrics she sung in a song called "Born Secular". It is a very interesting song. I was gonna try to break it down and figure it out, but now I feel like bloggin on my reaction to it. First off, the song is LOVELY. Jenny has the Watson Twins singing in the background and they sound AWESOME, then i listened to the lyrics and they sounded contrary to god. I started to question whether I should be listening to the song. Then, something else jumped in, it said listen to it again b/c this is how a lot of people feel when God is mentioned. Everyone is not brought up in the Christian faith, I have to remind myself sometimes. They don't have the knowledge or understanding or may not even want to have the knowledge or understanding of God that most do. I listened to it for a third time and I could hear someone that was looking for answers. She was telling us all how she feels about God. How He is not in her. How she feels He takes from us. A lot of people feel that way and have to deal with those feelings where God is that big It in the sky that does whatever He wants and we have to deal with it. The really interesting thing is that most Christians battle those same thoughts, fears, and feelings. Whenever something happens to us, or is taken from us, or we feel abandoned, we all go through the questions on why God is doing this. What kind of God would do this? But you know one thing we understand, it is that there is a God, at least for people at this stage. They recognize that He is, they just need to become acquainted with is personality. They may not want a relationship, but they need a relationship so they can answer at least some of their "why's". I think that is one of the things Christians are here to do. We are here to answer others "why" questions. Even when we are in the midst of our own why's. That is one of the beautiful things about the Chrisitans potential. We are able to give hope and joy and light to others even when it feels like we can't see the path in front of us. We rise above our situations to help others with theirs. Mother Theresa said it best, "Because it is in giving, that we recieve. In pardoning, that we gain pardon." I pray Jenny finds the answers to her questions and I pray that for every person that is on that path.

little whispers

You ever hear little whispers in your head that tell you to do crazy stuff, like "why don't you stick some metal in that outlet" or "I bet you won't hit him!" LOL I remember a friend of mine telling me sometimes when he is driving he just wants to run over somebody, with the amount of road rage that happens nowadays that doesn't seem far fetch. Do we ever wonder where they are coming from? We should. We have to know they are not coming from a good place or good being. Those whispers that always tempt us to have one more drink come straight from the Enemy. we can not continue to deny his existence. I know my Father would never tell me anything that will hurt me and if you think He has, then you need to listen closer b/c He does not do that. Any word you hear in your heart that discourages, condemns, accuses, confuses, councils you to do wrong, or is harsh toward you is NOT FROM GOD. His voice is always Loving and full of Grace and Mercy. His words may be Persistent, but they are never harmful.

Nothing big happened today that I can think of, well actually, when I went to my car I saw that it was covered in bird poo. I don't think this was an attack from the Adversary b/c I really don't care about how my car looks, but it did look DISGUSTING! LOL I guess I finally need to wash it. As I rode to work this morning, I was making all kinds of ignorant noises and "music" with my mouth for no reason. Then I just shut myself up and looked up at the sky as I drove(yes I kept my eye on the road). It was beautiful how all the clouds were formed. The light was peering through the small cracks in the clouds and if you looked hard enough(and I did, thank God there were not many people on the highway) one could still see the moon. It made me appreciate how wonderful this world is and how small I am in relation. However, despite my smallness, I can make a huge impact for mankind. Mother Theresa and Ghandi were both unimposing figures, but the way they lived their lives made them like Giants or better yet Angels. God bless them. UP THE SAINTS! DOWN the demons!!

**EDIT** Just when you think you are safe, he attacks. I have tried to post this blog a couple of times now and it is not working. Remember, the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Man the Adversary is a trip!

Still Bloggin

Man, I am still here...still bloggin..Today i was reading about "celibate clergy".I was wondering what the Catholic church used to justify this.They spoke on how St. Paul said that he would prefer that everybody be celibate(I guess I would never have gotten here).they also talk about how Jesus said that if someones does it(be celibate) for the Kingdom of God, then it is good.Jesus also said that only applied to those who could do it.He didn't command it.anyway, i got to thinking about it.I even read the Catholic position on it on NewAdvent. They go on to talk about how precious it is for the priests or bishops only family be the Church, much like Jesus is the husband of the Church. At first, I opposed this whole notion of celibate clergy but I can see how it is beneficial.we in the Protestant churches know all to well about the Pastor, the Pastor's wife and the PK's of this world. How favoritism plays a large part in the life of the Protestant church. However, I also see the pitfalls, with the many instances of child molestation that has been reported. In any case i feel Jesus put it best, if one can stand it, then let him stand it and if not, then you have got to be real with yourself and get out. Oh, wanna read something funny...go to the site above and read what they say to the priests before they are consecrated or sworn in. There is one line that is really funny. Anyway, If someone wants to be celibate and a clergy, who am I to stop them. We all have to make our own choices and build our own relationships with God.

Here I am again...i'm gonna try this blogging thing out again and see if i can keep it up...my job has been talking about web 2.0 so I am going to give some of these a shot...I'm hungry now though...take it easy...
